As a photographer at LunaCat Studio, I not only make newborn photoshoots or maternity photo sessions. I also have the pleasure to follow families as they grow as a family photographer. Moreover, for family pictures, it is usually mums who take care of them and therefore, they do not always appear on pictures, which is such a pity!
The best conditions for a newborn photo session is between 4 and 15 days after your baby’s birth. That is why I always recommend parents to book their session slot during pregnancy so that the photoshoot can take place fast after your baby’s birth when he still sleeps a lot and can keep curly positions easily. Yet, it happens that, for whatever reason, the newborn photo session has to be postponed. In this case, you just have to be aware that we may have more difficulties to get the poses you see in my portfolio because your baby will sleep less and be less curly. Still, I can tell you, we will make pictures as beautiful as before 15 days of age :)! As an example, we could not make Alexandre’s photo session before 1 month-old, but I am sure you will still love his pictures :).
As a newborn photographer, I totally rely on future parents for the good booking of their newborn photoshoot. As a future parent, we do not really realize how much their newborn will change during the first 15 days. For the newborn photoshoot to be done in the best conditions, the newborn must be sleeping to put him in the poses you can see in my portfolio. Of course, every baby is unique and parents are always a wonderful help to best understand their baby.
As a newborn photographer and a wedding photographer, I am able to follow the couples through different steps of their family life. If you remember the beautiful wedding day of Elise and Antoine, you must recall this couple was expecting a wonderful event. This is therefore with no small joy that I accepted to photograph their lovely new addition to the family when they asked me if I could be their newborn photographer. A renewed confidence I am really honored about! Therefore, I was happy to photograph the beautiful Léonard 11 days after his birth.
Luaca is a wondeful newborn I had the chance to meet for his newborn photo session in Lausanne with Sabrina and Cédric, his parents, who you already know from their maternity photoshoot in the swiss Lavaux. The newborn photoshoot was meant to be really fun, as his father plays american football and also thanks to the family’s pet Gibson that really took care of their baby. I love to see how pets include fastly the newcomer in the family and look after him spontaneously. All that to say that a newborn photo session is always prepared with the parents to determine their expectations in the photos that should be created for their lasting memories in pictures, turning every newborn photo session into a personalized experience for the family.
After the pregnancy photoshoot of her lovely family, I have been able to meet the newest addition in the family, Eloise Rose. Such a cute baby that I photographed 11 days after her birth. Her whole family was gathering around her birth and it was a real pleasure to accompany them through this important step in their family history. Antonella, Eloise Rose’s big sister, was wonderfully helpful to take care of her little sister during this baby photoshoot.
